“Training should be fun not a chore.”
Yes, data matters, but first and foremost is getting out and running. If you don’t do that, no matter what a coach does or says won’t get the job done. My philosophy is keeping things simple. I want you to enjoy running, enjoy the sites around you. If I put together a complicated workout that forces you to spend more time looking at your watch, then I failed to help you enjoy running.
This doesn’t mean I won’t look at the data, but we won’t be married to that as the process. It is my hope that this style will improve your running, help you achieve your goals, and most importantly, make sure you love the sport.
